The President's Emerging Scholars Program is a four-year opportunity for undergraduate students. Participants will receive a number of benefits, including professional advising, peer mentoring, and opportunities for engagement to ensure a positive and successful University of Minnesota experience!
The President’s Emerging Scholars Program aims to enrich students’ academic experiences, and equip them to excel academically. The Program’s mission is to ensure the timely graduation of its participants by assisting them with identifying University resources to help them realize personal, academic, and career goals.
The President’s Emerging Scholars Program serves students in freshman-admitting colleges at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus including:
Students who are named President's Emerging Scholars will be invited to participate in an optional Summer Seminar just for Presidents Emerging Scholars prior to their freshman year. This five-day seminar will provide participants with an opportunity to get acquainted with campus, staff, and make new friends!
Students in the President's Emerging Scholars program will receive a number of benefits, including a $1,000 scholarship in their freshman year. In order to be eligible for the full benefits of the President's Emerging Scholars Program, including the scholarship, students must meet first-year requirements.
While enrolling in the first year of the President’s Emerging Scholars Program is required, continuing as a participant in years two, three, and four is optional. Students who elect to continue in the President’s Emerging Scholars Program will continue to receive program benefits.
